“Congolese Christian youth are taking an active position in politics: the Minister for Territorial Development speaks on the subject during the conference of the Youth Coordination of the Chapelle des Victors Church”.

Christian youth get involved in politics: learning the game of power

On June 15, the Minister of Regional Planning, Guy Loanda, will honor the conference organized by the Youth Coordination of the Chapelle desvictors Church. The theme of the conference, “Christian youth and commitment to politics”, will provide an opportunity for Guy Loanda to present to Christian youth the contours of the political commitment necessary for the leaders of tomorrow.

This event is an opportunity for the Youth Coordination Chapel of the Victors to launch an invitation to young Christians aspiring to participate in the management of public affairs, not to hesitate any longer, to get into politics or in any other field. .

This keynote address also aims to stimulate more participation in the political sphere of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) among young Christians. The conference will allow young people to meet, listen to and discuss with the Minister of Regional Planning.

The Fatshimétrie team noted an increase in political engagement among young Congolese. Our blog posts attest to the diversity of concerns for young people. Indeed, one of the leaders of the opposition, Salmon Idi Kalonda, the political dolphin of Moïse Katumbi was recently arrested for political reasons. In eastern DRC, the East African Community Summit is discussing cantonment plans for armed groups active in the region. In Kinshasa, sporadic demonstrations against the presidency of Felix Tshisekedi are increasing, raising fears of an increase in political tensions in the country.

Political engagement is a way for young Congolese Christians to participate in national recovery after a decade of crises. The country has gone through tumultuous times and most of the population is often deprived of certain basic freedoms.

It is in this perspective that Fatshimétrie has created a foundation to help train young talents leaving school and embarking on entrepreneurship, an alternative to the lack of employment in the DRC. With the support of the sponsor and during the fair for young Congolese entrepreneurs, our ambition is to promote innovation and create an ecosystem conducive to the emergence of quality projects.

If political engagement among young Christians grows, entrepreneurial engagement can be a beneficial path to a more stable and prosperous future for the DRC
