The rehabilitation of the Kapata district office by Sino-Congolaise des Mines (SICOMINES S.A.) is a milestone for the community of the commune of Dilala, in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). After 5 months of waiting, the population was finally able to receive their renovated office, thanks to a project carried out by the mining company in accordance with its five-year specifications.
The head of the Kapata district, Dikubi Musa, expresses his satisfaction with the realization of this project. He emphasizes that it was a request from its population, which was taken into account and transformed into a concrete project by SICOMINES. He would also like to thank the company for its availability and its ability to listen to the local community.
Ilunga Mwinkeu, 1st vice-president of the local Committee for monitoring the specifications of SICOMINES, expresses his pride in this rehabilitation, which benefits the whole community. He reveals that SICOMINES has already responded favorably to many other projects, such as the construction of a technical school, a health center, agricultural mechanization and the improvement of road infrastructure. Other projects are also underway, including the rehabilitation of a water tower and the construction of standpipes to ensure access to drinking water in the Kapata district.
The mayor of the commune of Dilala, Ms. Françoise Mangweji, expresses her gratitude to SICOMINES for this patriotic act and stresses that it enhances the Kapata district. She calls for this collaboration to continue for the well-being of the population.
The official handover ceremony of the rehabilitation project of the Kapata district office took place in the presence of the mayor of the city of Kolwezi, Jacques Masengo Kindele.
This initiative by SICOMINES demonstrates its commitment to local communities and its desire to actively participate in the development of the region. By rehabilitating essential infrastructure, such as the district office, it helps to improve the living conditions of residents and strengthen the bonds of solidarity between the company and the community.
This concrete example illustrates the importance of partnerships between businesses and local communities in the context of sustainable development. It highlights the need to listen to the needs of the population and to implement concrete projects in response to these needs
