“Four mining companies appeal to the President of the DRC to resolve a major dispute with Primera Gold”

Four SAKIMA partner companies launch a vibrant appeal to the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo to resolve a dispute related to an agreement with Primera Gold.

In a joint statement, the mining companies partners of SAKIMA SA, operating in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Maniema, express their deep concern about the joint venture agreement signed between SAKIMA SA and the company private PRIMERA MINING LIMITED.

According to the partner companies, this agreement was concluded in defiance of the agreements and contracts still valid, covering the same mining perimeters. In addition, they emphasize that SAKIMA SA cannot dispose of mining deposits without consulting its partners who hold the titles.

The mining companies ask SAKIMA SA to reconsider its position and to comply with the legal instruments in its possession, as well as with the agreements and contracts signed. They also invite the President of the Republic to intervene as guarantor of the Nation to resolve this dispute which harms the image of the country and discourages national investments.

Finally, the partners of SAKIMA SA request a meeting with the Head of State and the government authorities in order to present the true situation and the prospects of their partnerships with SAKIMA SA.

This statement highlights the tensions and challenges faced by mining companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It stresses the importance of respecting existing agreements and contracts to guarantee a stable and attractive mining environment for investors.

The resolution of this dispute will be essential to restore the confidence of the partners and preserve the image of the country as a leader in the mining industry
