Youth recovery plan in the Democratic Republic of Congo: An ambitious initiative for the future of young people

Ka-Be, Hôtel de Kinshasa – This Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Mr. Hervé Tansia Wa Ntumba presented a youth recovery plan in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a leader and mentor of young people, he designed this document to help Congolese youth comply with the objectives of the Head of State, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, and to guarantee the visible impact of his program on population. Entitled “Operation Desert Storm”, this plan is based on 7 axes that address the major challenges facing Congolese youth.

The first pillar of this plan focuses on agriculture and rurality. It aims to encourage young people to get involved in the agricultural sector, by offering them training and opportunities to develop their skills in this essential area. Increased support for agricultural entrepreneurship and access to financing are also among the priorities.

The fight against juvenile delinquency and depravity of morals constitutes the second axis of the plan. Hervé Tansia wishes to set up prevention and reintegration programs for young people in situations of delinquency, with an emphasis on education and vocational training. This pillar aims to provide young people with the necessary opportunities to reintegrate into society and build a better future.

The third axis, focused on youth, population and development, emphasizes public policy for youth, the promotion of citizen participation and the development of programs aimed at improving the living conditions of young Congolese. This includes promoting access to education, health and employment for disadvantaged young people.

The fourth pillar, “Youth, Culture and New Citizenship”, highlights the importance of culture and civic education in building a more just and balanced society. Hervé Tansia proposes the implementation of cultural and artistic projects, as well as initiatives to raise awareness of citizenship and democratic values, in order to strengthen the cultural identity and civic awareness of young Congolese.

The fifth axis, “Youth and Gender”, aims to improve gender equality and to fight against gender-based discrimination and violence. It is essential to promote the education and empowerment of young girls, as well as to sensitize young boys to gender issues, in order to build a more egalitarian society that respects the rights of all.

The sixth pillar, “Youth, Partnership For Development”, highlights the importance of cooperation and partnership between the different stakeholders involved in youth development.. This involves working in collaboration with government actors, civil society organizations, businesses and international institutions to mobilize the resources and skills needed to implement actions in favor of young people.

Finally, the last axis, “Youth and strengthening the Institutional and Technical capacities of the Ministry in charge of youth and youth structures”, aims to strengthen the capacities of institutions and structures dedicated to youth. The aim is to promote the continuous training and strengthening of the skills of those responsible for youth, in order to ensure more effective and efficient management of policies and programs aimed at young people.

The youth recovery plan, developed by Hervé Tansia, aims to strengthen institutional, technical and operational capacities, as well as the participation and empowerment of young Congolese. Based on these 7 axes, he hopes to open the way to a more prosperous and fulfilled Congo for future generations.

It is important to underline the experience and expertise of Hervé Tansia in the field of youth. As a former collaborator of Mrs. Chantal Mulop, adviser to the Head of State on youth, gender and human trafficking, and adviser to the Minister of Youth, INC and CN, Yves Bunkulu Zola, he has an in-depth knowledge of the issues and challenges facing Congolese youth.

The youth recovery plan proposed by Hervé Tansia is an important step towards building a better future for Congolese youth. By focusing on education, employment, civic participation and gender equality, it offers concrete solutions to address the challenges faced by young people. Hopefully this plan will be quickly implemented and produce positive and lasting results for Congolese youth
