The Udps/Tshisekedi delegation traveled to Paris and Brussels from May 19 to 26, 2023 for a series of important political meetings. The trip was led by Augustin Kabuya, general secretary of Udps/Tshisekedi as well as vice-president of the Socialist International. He was accompanied by his delegation, made up of prominent members of Udps/Tshisekedi, including Me Elvis Mayo Bieme and Dr Jonas Kalambayi, chief of staff and deputy chief of staff respectively.
During its stay in Brussels, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the militants and executives of its party, as well as those of other allies of the Udps/Tshisekedi. The Secretary General had an intense political activity, during which he met successive delegations from Great Britain and Belgium as well as members of the section of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
During his talks with the members of the Federations of Great Britain and Belgium, Augustin Kabuya evoked the situation of the major problems which would weaken the federation across the Channel. As for the members of the federal committee of Belgium, the SG invited them to sincerity, unity, non-exposure of the party’s problems in social networks. Led by sectional president J.J. Kabongo, the delegation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg expressed the wish for the erection of their entity into a federation.
Then, the delegation met members of the federations of the Netherlands and Germany, who made the trip to Brussels to meet the day-to-day manager of the ruling party. The Secretary General also met with Mrs. Benedicta Lasi, Secretary General of the Socialist International, who came to discuss with the Spd party, as well as with the DRC Ambassador to Belgium, where he discussed questions on the state of the diplomatic mission.
The stay in Paris was devoted to a meeting with the members of the federation of France. Discussions revolved around issues of the current state of activities of the federation, preparations for the presidential election, financial and material means for the federation. At the end of the afternoon, the Secretary General visited Alexandre Ngyekama, Federal President hospitalized at the Gonesse Hospital Center in the Île de France region, with a message of comfort and support.
In summary, the trip of the Udps/Tshisekedi delegation to Paris and Brussels from May 19 to 26, 2023 was a success. Discussions focused on important issues, including the state of activities of the federations, preparations for the presidential election and financial and material means for the federations.
