The Secretary General of Udps/Tshisekedi and Vice-President of the Socialist International, Augustin Kabuya, recently made a trip along the Paris-Brussels axis, from May 19 to 26, 2023. Warmly welcomed at Zaventem airport by activists and executives of his party, accompanied by a delegation made up in particular of members of the Udps and officials of other political allies, he had intense political activity.
During his stay, the Secretary General met successively with several delegations, including members of the Federations of Great Britain and Belgium, those of the section of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and a dozen young people from the “Autre vision of Congo”. He also visited the DRC Embassy in Belgium to discuss questions about the status of the diplomatic mission.
Detained at the Bulgari hotel in Paris, he spoke with the members of the French federation and visited Alexandre Ngyekama, Federal President hospitalized at the Gonesse Hospital Center. Back in Brussels, he received in audience several individuals and especially members of the federations of the Netherlands and Germany who came to discuss with the day-to-day manager of the ruling party.
Sg Augustin Kabuya also went to Zaventem airport to welcome his distinguished guest Ms. Benedicta Lasi, Secretary General of the Socialist International, who came from Germany in discussion with the Spd party. Constructive exchanges with Ms. Lasi throughout the day, particularly on the prospects of the Socialist International. The next day, he went to Brussels City Hall where he met Mr. Philippe Close, 1st Vice-President of the Belgian Socialist Party and Mayor of Brussels. Organized by Mrs. Lydia Mutyebele, the meeting will identify the situation of relations between the Udps and the Belgian Socialist Party but also on the activities of President Félix – Antoine Tshisekedi.
At the end of his journey, the Secretary General met the Udps community of Belgium in the Nh Brussels Carrefour room, rue du Marché aux Herbes 110, 1000 Brussels. In front of hundreds of fighters, he shared his advice in conducting politics. This trip strengthens the position of the Udps on the Belgian and European political scene, and makes it possible to set up strategic collaborations and partnerships for the development of the DRC.
