“The DRC is strengthening its international partnerships with Turkey and China”

The Minister of State in charge of Regional Planning, Me Guy Loando Mboyo, accompanied Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde to Ankara, Turkey. They went to represent the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo at the investiture ceremony of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was elected President of Turkey on May 28 with 52.18% of the vote.

This participation of two members of the government underlines the importance of political and economic relations between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Turkey, and demonstrates the determined leadership of President Tshisekedi in forging strong partnerships at the international level. Relations between the DRC and Turkey were strengthened thanks to this presence at the investiture ceremony.

Earlier, Minister Guy Loando Mboyo also accompanied President Tshisekedi on his official visit to China. The latter aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, to promote the influence of the DRC and to establish a solid collaboration with China. The President had stressed the urgency for both parties to work together to ensure that this public partnership is always a win-win, in order to guarantee principles of mutual respect, fairness and transparency that will benefit both the Congolese and Chinese people. .

These important missions highlight the existing complicity between Félix Tshisekedi and his government team, led by Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, both to stimulate Sino-Congolese cooperation and to strengthen Turkey-DRC cooperation. Indeed, the objective is to consolidate and expand these strategic partnerships in collaboration with the cabinet of the President of the Republic to guarantee their impact on the economic future of the country.

President Tshisekedi shows himself as a leader committed to development, despite the security challenges that thwart his leadership. He is convinced that the economic stability of the DRC is crucial to ensuring a sustainable future and reducing conflicts in the region. No wonder he continues to visit abroad to build strong partnerships and boost the country’s economic development.
