Last night, a new terrorist attack mourned the village of Kanyamutsitsa, located in the territory of Beni, in North Kivu. In this new attack, the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF) killed at least 9 civilians, in addition to a large number of wounded and missing.
Civil society, horrified by these acts, called on the army to step up patrols to end the violence in the region. Civil Society President Roger Wangeve relayed that the terrorists not only killed and abducted people, but also looted property. According to the local authorities, this attack would be revenge following the losses that the terrorists suffered during the destruction of one of their camps.
This region has suffered several attacks in recent times, raising questions about the effectiveness of security forces in protecting civilians. With growing insecurity in the region, it is more important than ever to find lasting solutions to end this human slaughter.
In short, the situation is alarming, and it is urgent to act to protect the inhabitants of the territory of Beni and guarantee them the security they deserve.
