The national primary school leaving exam organized in Kasumbalesa for the first time free of charge by President Tshisekedi

The national primary school leaving examination (ENAFEP), organized this year in Kasumbalesa, brought together more than 11,000 candidates, including nearly 6,000 girls, who came to take the tests in 35 examination centers. This event is a big step forward for primary education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, thanks to the historic decision of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, to make the exam free for the first time in the country’s history.

The Sous-Proved of EPST Kasumbalesa-Sakania, Tshisambu Tshindamba Benoit, welcomed this event and thanked the President for his commitment to free national examination. The local authorities have also taken all measures to prevent any request for money.

The ENAFEP participation rate is on the rise, it is important to encourage young Congolese to study, because they represent the hope of tomorrow. However, some provinces were unable to organize the exam due to the delay of some items, as announced by the National Minister for EPST, Tony Mwaba. The events have therefore been postponed in some provinces until Tuesday, June 13.

The Congolese government must continue its efforts to guarantee free access to primary education and improve its quality in the DRC, in order to give young Congolese a better future. Finally, despite the unstable socio-economic situation, the holding of this review once again shows the resilience of the Congolese in their quest for a better future.

In another register, various events should be highlighted in the DRC, such as the arbitrary arrest of Salomon Idi Kalonda Della, summoned for incitement to tribal hatred, the participation of Jean-Pierre Bemba in the extraordinary summit of the CIRGL in Luanda to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in the DRC, and the worrying spiral of violence in North Kivu. Finally, other positive events should be mentioned, such as the slight appreciation of the Congolese franc and the decision to help Rwandan and Congolese refugees
