“Governor of Ituri: Dialogue or justice, the ultimatum to armed groups”

The governor of Ituri, Johnny Luboya N’kashama, issued an ultimatum to armed groups that continue to commit abuses against the civilian population. This statement came during the visit of a few hours by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, in this region of the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In short, it is time to put an end to the insecurity that prevails in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is necessary to protect and guarantee the rights of the civilian population. This decision by the governor of Ituri is laudable and it must be supported and supported by the national authorities to put an end to impunity and the violation of human rights in this part of the country.
