“Congolese young entrepreneurs fair: an inspiring gathering for the economic future of the DRC”

Here is an article on the second edition of the young Congolese entrepreneurs fair organized by the Fondation Le Parrain. The summit was held on Thursday, June 01, 2023 at Pullman Lubumbashi and brought together young entrepreneurs from the region around innovative projects.

In an opening video, the President of the “Le Parrain” Foundation, Passy MUKOMA, urges young people to follow the example of young entrepreneurs who have succeeded before them, despite modest departures. It thus encourages young people to embark on entrepreneurship, showing them that it is a real driver of economic growth.

The summit also involved winners of the first edition of the young Congolese entrepreneurs fair in Kinshasa. These budding experts were thus able to share their experience and highlight flagship projects, such as BUNKETE plus, AFYA, ATIA super Gari, MASANGA KONGO and the rabbit and quail breeding sectors.

The Vice-Governor of the province of Haut-Katanga, Jean-Claude KANFWA, also took the floor to encourage young entrepreneurs. He underlined the importance of entrepreneurship in meeting the challenge of the country’s economic development, as it creates jobs.

The ceremony continued with a series of pitches from young entrepreneur candidates. Five entrepreneurs were able to pitch their project to obtain start-up funding and support to launch their business. Following these presentations, the five entrepreneurs each received a check for US$10,000 for their project.

The “Le Parrain” foundation aims to create opportunities for young people by being their incubator for the various projects defended by young Congolese entrepreneurs. This ceremony ended with a visit of the stands, giving an appointment to the participants for the next summit which will be organized in another region of the DRC.

In short, the young Congolese entrepreneurs fair is by far a unique opportunity for young people. This event plays an important role in the development of entrepreneurship in the DRC, creating jobs and accelerating the economic growth of the country. The “The Godfather” Foundation deserves to be saluted for the initiative of this exceptional event.
