Article: National primary school leaving exam launched in Kasai Central
The Vice-Governor of Kasaï Central has launched the 2023 National Primary School Leaving Examination. This year, the Educational Province of Kasaï Central 1 expects 62,107 candidates, an increase of 3,298 candidates compared to the year former. For two days, the primary finalist candidates will present the French, Mathematics, General Culture and Science tests. The tests will be sanctioned by obtaining a certificate of primary studies for successful candidates.
In his speech, the Vice-Governor justified this increase by the efforts made by the various parties. He also welcomed the materialization of the vision of the Head of State to make basic education free, thus allowing children from poor families as well as rich families to have access to education.
The provincial chief inspector reminded candidates to be calm, disciplined, and avoid fraud and cheating. The questions asked are drawn from the subjects studied in class, and the candidates must use a blue or black pen to answer them.
The launching ceremony of the tests took place at the Diakaja Primary School, in the Commune of Katoka. We wish good luck to all applicants!
In short, education in the DRC is an important subject that deserves special attention. The fact that basic education is free for all children is a significant step towards reducing the gap between social classes. However, much remains to be done to improve the quality of education in the DRC, particularly by investing in teacher training and improving school infrastructure.
