The IX Games of La Francophonie, which are taking place in Kinshasa, have been the subject of a surprising announcement: the Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo, will not be present during this competition. which began on July 28 and will continue until August 6. This absence is due to the fact that the Congolese government did not officially invite the Rwandan delegation, due to the security crisis between the two countries.
In addition to the absence of Louise Mushikiwabo, the Rwandan government has also decided not to send its athletes and musical artists. This situation reflects the political and security tensions that exist between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, and unfortunately impacts the progress of the games.
Despite the difficulties and successive postponements linked to the pandemic and infrastructure, the organizers finally managed to set up the necessary facilities to accommodate the various sports disciplines.
