The Kinshasa-Matadi road is one of the main roads in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, its management has recently been called into question. Indeed, the Congolese government has requested an assessment of the amount to be paid to the Congolese Toll Company (SOPECO), which has worked on this road for 8 years. This request was made by the Minister of State in charge of Infrastructure, Alexis Gisaro, during the evaluation of the work carried out by this company.
The governor of Kongo-Central, Guy Bandu, stressed the importance of a rigorous, objective and non-complacent evaluation. This request comes within the framework of the end of the collaboration between the government and SOPECO, to which the management of the toll service was entrusted in 2015.
This assessment is therefore crucial in determining the amount to be paid to SOPECO. However, it is essential that this assessment is carried out in an impartial manner, in order to ensure fair compensation for the work carried out by the company.
The management of road infrastructures is a major challenge for the economic and social development of a country. A road in good condition helps to facilitate trade, open up regions and improve the quality of life of populations. It is therefore essential to ensure that road construction and maintenance works are carried out in a transparent and efficient manner.
The request for this evaluation is an important step in the process of ending the collaboration between the Congolese government and SOPECO. Hopefully, this assessment will determine in a fair and equitable manner the amount to be paid to this company for the services rendered
