The revival of the automotive industry in the DRC: Kin Motors is committed to producing new quality and affordable vehicles “made in Congo”

The automotive industry is experiencing a new dynamic in the Democratic Republic of Congo with the adoption of a vision aimed at renewing vehicles in all transport sectors. The government recently visited the company Kin Motors, which is committed to producing new “Kin” brand vehicles made in the DRC.

The Minister of Transport, Marc Ekila Likombo, stressed the importance of this initiative to offer quality new vehicles in both public transport and private transport in Kinshasa. This project is part of President Félix Tshisekedi’s vision of reviving Congolese industry and limiting vehicle imports.

The Kin Motors company plans to build assembly plants in Kinshasa to produce “made in Congo” zero-kilometre vehicles. The goal is to offer quality vehicles at an affordable price, under US$10,000. This initiative would also allow foreign exchange to be kept in the country and reinvested in other priority sectors.

The government fully supports this project and encourages the establishment of other assembly plants in the Maluku Special Economic Zone. The Kin Motors company plans to contribute to the development of the automotive industry in the DRC and to create jobs and wealth for the country.

This new vision in the Congolese automotive sector offers many promising prospects. By offering new and affordable vehicles, made locally, the DRC could experience a real economic renaissance and strengthen its position on the international scene
