“Rural roads: five rehabilitation projects validated to boost the development of the province of Kindu”

Members of the provincial road commission made important decisions at a recent workshop in Kindu. Indeed, five projects for the rehabilitation of rural roads have been validated to improve accessibility to rural areas of the province. These projects were selected after careful consideration and careful analysis of the needs of each production area.

The five roads selected are: Kunda-Bikenge, Lusumba-Kama, Kailo-Elila, Wamaza-Abimba and Saidi-Kalulu. These roads play a crucial role in the development of rural areas by facilitating the transport of goods and people. It is essential to rehabilitate them in order to support the local economy and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants.

The national coordinator of the inclusive and resilient rural development support program (PADRIR), Joseph-Damien Muteba Kalala, stressed the importance of this judicious choice of the selected tracks. He stressed that the aim was not to disperse resources, but to focus efforts on priority routes that will benefit more people. This approach ensures that rehabilitated roads will be sustainably maintained and provide long-term benefits.

These decisions to rehabilitate rural roads are excellent news for rural communities in the province. They will boost economic activity, open up new opportunities for farmers and herders, and improve access to basic services such as schools and health centres.

In conclusion, the validation of these five feeder road rehabilitation projects is an important step towards the development of rural areas in the province of Kindu. These roads will play a key role in promoting economic activity, improving living conditions and connecting rural communities
