The Women’s Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo faced the fearsome D-Tigress of Nigeria in the 26th FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball Championship 2023. Unfortunately, the Congolese were beaten 65-73 in that first game.
The match was a tall order for the Leopards Ladies who struggled to find their rhythm against the Nigerian side determined to retain their title. Despite their determination, the Congolese failed to turn the tide throughout the game, suffering setbacks in every quarter.
However, this defeat should not affect the motivation of the Leopards ladies. They will have the opportunity to catch up in their next match against Egypt. This will be an opportunity for them to show their talent, their team spirit and their determination to win.
The FIBA Women’s Basketball Africa Championship 2023 takes place from July 28 to August 5 and promises to be an intense and competitive competition. Participating teams fight for the title and seek to proudly represent their country on the African stage.
