“Death of Benedy Moseli Monzali: Congolese football in mourning”

The Congolese football world is in mourning. Benedy Moseli Monzali, right-back of AS Maniema Union, died following surgery. The 24-year-old was from the Republic of Congo and won the Congo Cup in 2019 with the Kindu club. He had scored the decisive goal in this final between his team and FC Renaissance.

The news of his disappearance was confirmed by the club as well as by the Normalization Committee of the Congolese Federation of Football Association (FECOFA). CONOR also offered its condolences to the family of Benedy Moseli Monzali, to his club of origin, as well as to PJSK, his club of the Kinshasa Provincial Football Entente (EPFKIN) where he made himself known.
