Workshop on the security situation in Ituri: Mbusa Nyamwisi calls for the pacification of the province.

The Minister of State, Minister of Regional Integration, Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisa opened on Friday, May 26 in Kinshasa the workshop on the security situation in the province of Ituri. Mbusa Nyamwisa explained the importance of working hard to achieve pacification in the eastern part of the DRC. Delegates from all Iturian communities residing in Kinshasa were invited to discuss the deep, distant and present causes of the insecurity that weaken their province.

The president of the “iturian” community of Kinshasa highlighted four important current events: the state of siege, the issue of the election of a new governor in Ituri, the need for intra-community dialogue and inter-community with openness to armed groups, as well as the restoration of state authority in the province. The delegates delivered a memo to Minister of State Mbusa Nyamwisi containing these four facts.

Mbusa Nyamwisi is committed to advocating with his hierarchy to organize dialogue for peace in Ituri. He believes that the cessation of hostilities will allow the improvement of the security situation, the free movement of people and their goods on different roads and the emergence of integration projects. The province of Ituri has mining and oil resources as well as a forest ecosystem that could assure it a flamboyant future.

The workshop was an opportunity to conduct an in-depth analysis of the resurgence of armed groups that commit serious abuses against the civilian population. Mbusa Nyamwisi stressed the obligation for any candidate for regional integration morocco to promote a climate of peace among border populations. Indeed, the border towns of neighboring countries of the DRC are experiencing spectacular economic growth, while in the DRC, we see rather the increase in armed groups and the inflation of acts of terror that are harmful to investments.

Thus, the delegates, under the leadership of Mbusa Nyamwisi, called on the “iturian” population to join the path of peace that he is working, body, mind and soul to build
