This Thursday took place the transfer of power from Claude Ibalanky Ekolomba to Alphonse Ntumba Luaba at the head of the National Monitoring Mechanism of the Addis Ababa Framework Agreement in the commune of Gombe. This structure, placed under the authority of the President of the Republic, had been directed for four years by Mr. Ibalanky, before he was appointed roving ambassador to the Head of State on May 23. Since then, questions about his effectiveness in his new role have circulated in the corridors of the presidential palace.
Even if it is simply a question of taking office, it would seem that Claude Ibalanky does not seek to be forgotten. Target of persistent criticism, he is regularly noticed on his Twitter account open to the public. Among the most recent posts, we can read: “The evil of yesterday has taken root today and everything overflows: road traffic, kuluna phenomenon, degradation of morals, proliferation of armed groups, abuse of social networks, misappropriation of state property, spoliation of land, etc. We must cut the root of evil and create a just society, for us and for posterity. – The best clothing for his convictions is courage. The courage to take responsibility, to tell the truth and above all to seek solutions to problems that are ruining society. »
Faced with the rumours, the Presidency of the Republic was quick to react. There is indeed talk of setting up an inspection of the financial management of the structure that Mr. Ibalanky led for four years. This action is nothing new but it will allow the new coordinator, Alphonse Ntumba Luaba, to restore order in this decried institution. Indeed, this structure is currently going through a difficult period marked by the proliferation of armed groups in the east of the country, the aggression of Rwanda, the persistence of insecurity in the province of Kwango, bordering Kinshasa, the capital of ground floor.
Later, the article also mentions social measures. The province of Kasai received a donation of 30 motorcycles from public funds used for free education. This donation aims to facilitate the travel of the provincial deputy directors of the EPST. In the same vein, Suez International is committed to helping the province of Kasai Central by providing access to drinking water.
In short, the DRC is currently at a historic turning point between the next presidential elections, national security investigations, the fight against armed groups, the health crisis. The new management team will therefore have to demonstrate determination, efficiency and conviction to implement significant reforms for the well-being of the DRC and its population.
