“The Leopards of the DRC crush Chad during the Games of La Francophonie: the favorites of the competition stand out!”

The first activities of the IX Games of La Francophonie began with a series of basketball matches that took place at the Martyrs stadium. In Group A, the DRC women’s team, the Leopards, won a landslide victory over Chad with a score of 97-17. The Leopards dominated every quarter and clearly showed their superiority on the pitch.

This impressive victory places the daughters of coach Ade Coco among the favorites of the competition. In other matches, Lebanon beat Romania (68-57), Senegal defeated Benin (92-29) and Congo Brazzaville won a forfeit victory over Haiti (20-0).

This Friday, five matches are scheduled, including the match of the DRC against Romania. The other posters oppose Cameroon to Tunisia, Haiti to Senegal, Benin to Congo Brazzaville and Chad to Lebanon.

The official opening of the Francophonie Games is scheduled for this evening at the Martyrs stadium, but the first basketball matches have already set the tone for the competition.
