The Sainte Famille College of the commune of Ndjili wins the final of the cultural tournament “Génies en Herbe” version of UNOwomen in Congo. This victory qualifies the team for the national championship of the RTNC Unwomen tournament which will take place in June. The children of this champion team wore t-shirts conveying a strong message to fight against violence against women.
The final was organized in the facilities of the Congolese National Radio Television (RTNC) between two schools in the Tshangu district. The 4 students from each team competed, under the animation of Simon Mbaki Mazakala. The Collège Sainte Famille wins with a very good lead over its counterpart Maman wa Boboto de Masina.
In the semi-finals, Mater Dei won against Mama Wa Boboto, while Sainte Famille was able to win against Mater Dei. The schools qualified for the final were Sainte Famille with 360 points against Mama Wa Boboto with 255 points.
This victory is a recognition of the quality of education provided in the Holy Family College of Ndjili. The students were able to demonstrate their general culture and their commitment to gender equality by wearing t-shirts in support of this cause. We congratulate this young team for their victory, hoping to see more Congolese students participate in cultural competitions of this kind in the future.
