France: a grant of 500,000 euros to support refugees in Uganda.

France recently awarded a €500,000 grant to the NGO Action contre la Faim (ACF) to support refugees and host communities in Uganda. This financial assistance will make it possible to set up a one-year project that will focus on the nutrition and food security of 2,000 households living in the refugee camps of Nakivale and Kyangwali.

The objective of this project is to improve access to a diversified diet by encouraging self-production of food and supporting large-scale agricultural production. The aim is to guarantee sustainable food security and the autonomy of vulnerable households.

This grant is testimony to France’s willingness to support refugees and vulnerable households in Uganda. The NGO Action contre la Faim plays an essential role in the fight against hunger in the country. It prevents and treats malnutrition, raises public awareness and works with farmers.

This initiative is part of France’s international strategy for food security, which emphasizes the importance of combining humanitarian aid and development to sustainably help populations in need.

In parallel, find on our blog the latest information on events in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). You will be able to discover in particular that Pascaline Zamuda has been appointed Deputy Director of FONHAB to improve social housing in the DRC, the crisis that the International Bank for Africa in Congo (BIAC) is going through, the growing tension in the DRC where the opposition is repressed or even the notion of malaise in the Kasai region.

Thus, while supporting humanitarian initiatives internationally, it is important to closely follow events on the African continent to be aware of local issues and challenges.
