“The management of tolls on the Kinshasa-Matadi road: a crucial assessment for the Congolese government”

The news in the Democratic Republic of Congo continues to evolve and make people talk about it. Among the popular topics is the management of tolls on the Kinshasa-Matadi road. Indeed, the Congolese government recently asked experts from the Congolese Major Works Agency (ACGT) and the Roads Office (OR) to assess the amount to be paid to the Congolese Toll Company (SOPECO), which worked for eight years on this road.

This request was made by the Minister of State in charge of Infrastructure, Alexis Gisaro, during the evaluation of the work carried out by SOPECO on the RN 1. The Governor of Kongo-Central, Guy Bandu, called on the experts of the government to carry out an objective and impartial assessment.

It is important to note that in 2015 the government entrusted the management of this toll service to SOPECO. Today, as the collaboration between the government and SOPECO is coming to an end, it is necessary to quantify the amount to be paid to this company for the work carried out.

This assessment is of great importance because it will make it possible to determine the fair amount to be paid to SOPECO and to conclude this collaboration in an equitable manner. It is crucial to carry out this evaluation in a rigorous, objective and non-complacent manner, as the Governor of Kongo-Central pointed out.

This case highlights the importance of transparency and impartiality in the management of infrastructure projects and contracts with companies. It is essential to ensure that public funds are used responsibly and in the interests of the country’s development.

The Kinshasa-Matadi road is an essential axis for the transport of goods and people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is therefore essential to guarantee its safety, quality and regular maintenance to ensure smooth circulation and facilitate economic exchanges.

In conclusion, the evaluation of the works carried out by SOPECO on the Kinshasa-Matadi road is an important issue for the Congolese government. It is essential that this assessment be carried out in an objective, transparent and fair manner in order to guarantee the proper management of public funds and the quality of the country’s road infrastructure
