Vaccination against measles in South Kivu: an awareness campaign launched by Dr Olivier Kabarati Amani
On May 24, 2023, the health center of Munya/Nyangezi, in the territory of Walungu in South Kivu, launched a vaccination campaign against measles. On this occasion, the head doctor of the Nyangezi zone, Dr Olivier Kabarati Amani, called on the community to mobilize for the success of this campaign.
Indeed, the vaccination curve in the health zone of Nyangezi is ascending, and this vaccination campaign is essential to avoid deaths due to measles, which have been observed recently in other health zones of Nyangezi. Dr. Kabarati Amani also underlined the importance of the polio vaccination campaign which is about to start.
The head of the Karhongo/Nyangezi group, Pascal Cishugi Lungeri Nyangezi, for his part asked the population to allow their children to be vaccinated, because vaccinating your child means loving him.
The Nyangezi health zone has 12 health areas divided into 4 groups, namely Karhongo, Kamanyola, Kamisimbi and Lurhala.
