Repair of the Aviation substation transformer in Bandundu: a ray of hope for neighborhoods without electricity for months
The Provincial Directorate of the National Electricity Company (SNEL) in Kwilu has announced the start of repair work on the transformer of the Aviation substation in Bandundu. This good news was greeted with relief by residents of neighborhoods without electricity for five long months.
The repair work is carried out by experts from the company Ateliers d’Electro Maintenance Industrielle (AEMI) who have come specially from Kinshasa. According to the provincial director of SNEL, Prospère Bakuku, the works are in progress and should be completed within the next ten days. Once the repairs are complete, the neighborhoods concerned will finally have electricity again.
The failure of the Aviation substation transformer dates back to February 11. Since that date, the neighborhoods of the city of Bandundu have been plunged into darkness, deprived of electricity. This situation has greatly impacted the daily life of the inhabitants, making household chores difficult, disrupting businesses and depriving schools and hospitals of an essential source of energy.
Faced with this situation, SNEL took the necessary measures by requesting the help of AEMI experts to carry out the repairs. After recovering the coil needed for the repair in Kinshasa, the team quickly arrived on site to start the work.
Prosper Bakuku wanted to reassure the population by asking them to be patient, stressing that the repair of the transformer is underway to restore the situation as it was before.
This good news is welcomed with relief by the inhabitants of Bandundu, who hope to finally find a stable and regular electricity supply. The repair of the transformer at the Aviation substation marks a turning point in the resolution of this problem which has taken too long.
In conclusion, the repair of the transformer at the Aviation substation in Bandundu is an important step forward for neighborhoods that have been without electricity for several months. Thanks to the work in progress, the inhabitants will soon be able to regain a normal electricity supply. This repair testifies to SNEL’s commitment to providing quality service and meeting the energy needs of the population
