“The IX Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa: An exceptional artistic festival highlighting the cultural richness of La Francophonie”

The IX Games of La Francophonie are about to begin in Kinshasa and the city is actively preparing to host this major event. Many sites have been identified and rehabilitated to host the various artistic competitions planned. It is a unique opportunity for the Congolese capital to highlight its cultural heritage and promote the artistic diversity of La Francophonie.

Among the venues selected are the Academy of Fine Arts and the National Museum, which will host activities related to the visual arts such as painting, photography and sculpture-installation. The Echangeur de Limete will be transformed into a veritable urban stage for street arts, with juggling performances, giant puppets and hip-hop dancing.

The People’s Palace and the French Institute will be dedicated to activities related to song, while the Wallonia-Brussels Center will host storytelling, literature and creative dance activities. Digital creation will be honored at the French Institute and at the Halle de la Gombe.

In total, eleven artistic disciplines will be represented during these games, offering French-speaking artists an international platform to showcase their talent and creativity. This event is also an opportunity for the Democratic Republic of Congo to consolidate its place on the international cultural scene and to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between French-speaking countries.

Several countries have already confirmed their participation in the games and some delegations have already settled in Kinshasa. The IX Games of La Francophonie are organized by the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie in collaboration with the National Committee of the Games of La Francophonie and benefit from the support of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

This event promises to be a real showcase for culture and art in the Democratic Republic of Congo and offers a unique opportunity to highlight the richness and diversity of La Francophonie. The artistic encounters and exchanges that will take place during these games will help strengthen ties between the participating countries and promote the French language and the cultural diversity that characterizes La Francophonie.
