The article of the day highlights the low number of candidates in the BRTC (Offices for the Reception and Processing of Candidatures) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which confirms the boycott of the electoral process by the entire Congolese political class. This boycott is proof of political maturity and testifies to the will of the political class to say no to an electoral process deemed inappropriate and not very reassuring.
The Coalition for Action for the Sahel and the Ecosystem (CASE), congratulates the political leaders and the personalities of the Congolese civil society who have decided not to present their candidature for the national legislative elections because of the numerous organizational shortcomings and the contestation of the quality of the electoral administration. According to CASE, there is no shame in postponing the elections if it improves the technical, political, financial and reputational conditions of the electoral process, in the best interest of the Congolese people.
The coalition also criticizes the team of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) led by Denis Kadima, accusing it of not having taken seriously the issue of the salaries of electoral agents. She calls for salary arrears to be settled before officers are made redundant. According to CASE, the lack of seriousness in taking charge of the electoral process is clearly demonstrated by this neglect.
CASE also salutes the personalities of the Sacred Union (presidential majority) who have taken a step back from the electoral process. She encourages them not to support Denis Kadima in his electoral perdition, calling it political insanity.
Finally, the coalition calls on President Félix Tshisekedi to show wisdom and engage in an inclusive political dialogue to save the nation. She encourages the President to consult traditional organizations, institutions and mechanisms that can facilitate this dialogue and restore confidence in the electoral process.
In conclusion, the article highlights the tense political context in the DRC, marked by a massive boycott of the electoral process. He stresses the need for an inclusive political dialogue to resolve this crisis and restore confidence in the upcoming elections
