“The Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa: a unique event combining sport, culture and international exchanges”

Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is currently the scene of the 9th Games of La Francophonie. As the event enters its home stretch, the excitement is palpable across the city.

The infrastructure of the games is being finalized and others are already operational, assured the government spokesperson. Preparations are well underway to offer a quality cultural show.

The safety and mobility of French-speaking athletes is also a priority, with measures taken to guarantee their well-being during the games.

The games village will open its doors this Sunday at the Stade Tata Raphaël site, welcoming nearly 3,000 athletes from the French-speaking world.

Regarding the cultural part of the games, 11 disciplines are planned including song, dance, painting, sculpture, photography, digital creation and literature. The DRC is determined to show its supremacy in these different cultural disciplines.

The infrastructures of the DRC, such as the People’s Palace, the National Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Center Wallonie Bruxelles, were made available for the event.

The organizers are confident about the success of the games, highlighting the reputation of the DRC in the artistic and cultural field. They hope that Congolese artists will win many medals during this competition.
