“New leadership in North Kivu: Changes in sector heads herald an era of transformation”

New heads of sectors appointed in North Kivu: What changes to expect?

In an order dated July 18, 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs announced the list of new heads of sectors in the various provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Among these appointments, we find changes at the head of the Beni and Lubero sectors, both located in the province of North Kivu.

In the territory of Beni, Mr. Kasereka Mapathi Japhet succeeds Mr. Boozi Sindiwako Bin Vuhaka at the head of the Ruwenzori sector. After more than 12 years of reign, Mr. Vuhaka gives way to a new leader who will be responsible for managing the administrative affairs of the sector. Similarly, in the Beni-Mbau sector, Mr. Kakule Bulembo Pascal replaces Mr. Paluku Lumande Remy.

These changes of heads of sectors can have a significant impact on the daily life of the inhabitants of these territories. Indeed, the heads of sectors are responsible for the management of local affairs, the application of government policies and the resolution of community problems. Their role is essential to ensure the well-being and development of the population.

It is therefore essential that these new sector heads be competent, honest and attentive to the needs of the population. Their ability to mobilize the necessary resources, to promote citizen participation and to set up local initiatives will be decisive in improving the living conditions of the inhabitants.

However, it is important to note that these appointments are not immediately applicable in provinces under siege. The heads of sectors appointed in these regions will take up their duties after the lifting of this exceptional measure.

In conclusion, the changes of heads of sectors in North Kivu herald a new era for these territories. Expectations are high in terms of leadership, effective management of local affairs and community development. Let’s hope that the new heads of sectors will be able to meet these challenges and bring about concrete improvements in the lives of the inhabitants.
