“The Ministry of Education targets anti-values in the provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu: a fight for quality and ethical education”

The educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu are at the heart of the concerns of the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, Tony Muaba Kazadi. According to him, these provinces are labeled as seats of anti-values, and it is time to act to remedy this.

Within the framework of his meetings of moralization and moral rearmament of the Heads of schools, the Minister pointed the finger at the persistent problems in these provinces. He denounces in particular the non-respect of official instructions, the invention of illicit fees, the increase in fees for certification tests, and the consideration of students as customers.

The Minister called on officials to reverse the trend and mobilize to fight against these anti-values. He wishes a well-prepared return to school and urges the Heads of establishments to scrupulously observe the official instructions.

However, the Minister also underlined a certain complicity and familiarity between the heads of establishments and the Inspectors, which hinders the implementation of the directives. He recognizes that some senior executives are promoters of schools, which creates a conflict of interest.

The Secretary General of the Ministry also expressed his frustration at the lack of support from certain collaborators. She pointed out that her instructions are often seen as insignificant and not followed.

It is clear that education in the Democratic Republic of Congo faces many challenges, but the determination of the Ministry to fight against anti-values is encouraging. It is essential to promote quality education, based on moral and ethical values.

This requires close collaboration between different stakeholders, including school heads, inspectors, and ministry officials. It is also important to educate parents and students on the importance of education and ethics in the school system.

In conclusion, the fight against anti-values in the educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu is a priority for the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education. Promoting moral and ethical values in education is essential to ensure a better future for Congolese students
