“Musienene Special Economic Zone: Notable progress in the industrial development of North Kivu”

To realize the progress of the works in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Musienene, this is the objective of the visit carried out by the Congolese Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, on Friday July 14, 2023. in Lubero territory, North Kivu, this site is currently experiencing significant progress in its development.

During his visit, the Minister was able to observe several steps taken. First of all, studies on the development plan for the area have been completed. In addition, the space has been expanded from 162 hectares to over 300 hectares. Electrical works have also been carried out, and more than 10 companies have already registered their request to install their industrial unit in the SEZ.

He also underlined the importance of time in setting up an SEZ, citing the example of Makulu SEZ which started in 2012 and whose first production is not expected until 2023.
