The ninth Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa: Preparations underway for a major event

The ninth Games of La Francophonie are fast approaching, and the first delegation from a participating country has already arrived in Kinshasa. This is the delegation of Togo, which has 14 people. The welcome they received met their expectations and they are determined to win as many medals as possible.

However, despite the arrival of the delegations, work is still in progress to finalize the infrastructure necessary for the event. This creates a certain pressure to get everything ready on time. The Congolese government assures that the work will be completed soon.

Also, to ensure the smooth running of the Games, Kinshasa is implementing safety and health measures. 4,500 Republican Guard police officers have been mobilized to provide security, and 40 ambulances have been made available for medical purposes.

In addition, the Congolese National Radio Television (RTNC) received a batch of high definition broadcasting equipment to cover the event. This lot includes 4 state-of-the-art OB vans and other broadcast equipment.

However, some French-speaking countries have decided not to participate or to reduce their delegation. Quebec has withdrawn, New Brunswick has reduced its delegation and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation will not participate in the sporting events.

Despite these setbacks, the ninth Games of La Francophonie promise to be a major event and the delegations are determined to give their best to win medals. Let’s hope that everything will take place in the best possible conditions to offer a high-level sporting and cultural spectacle.

In conclusion, the Francophone Games are an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and richness of the French language through sport and culture. Kinshasa is preparing to welcome delegations from the various participating countries, despite the logistical challenges it faces. All that remains is to wait for the start of the Games and hope that this edition will be a real success.
