Physical and biometric control of soldiers active in Ituri: an essential measure to strengthen the army in the DRC
In the current context of violence perpetrated by ADF rebels and M23 terrorists in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Congolese army has launched a physical and biometric control operation of the active soldiers of the 32nd military region of Ituri . This measure, announced by Lieutenant-General Luboya N’kashama, Military Governor of Ituri Province, aims to have an exact number of military personnel present in this troubled region of the country.
The main objective of this control is to control the numbers of the Congolese armed forces and to improve the living conditions of the soldiers. By knowing precisely the number of soldiers present on the ground, it will be possible to strengthen the army and better respond to the internal and external threats hanging over the DRC.
To guarantee the reliability of the control, the army specified that it will be done within the units of the soldiers concerned. Thus, all soldiers of the 32nd military region are invited to return to their respective units in order to benefit from a complete and thorough check.
To set an example, the Military Governor himself was the first to submit to physical and biometric screening. This approach aims to show the importance and the necessity of this operation for all serving soldiers.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, where insecurity is a daily reality, the physical and biometric control of soldiers active in Ituri represents a crucial measure to strengthen the army and ensure the protection of Congolese territory. By knowing precisely the number of troops and ensuring their integrity, the Congolese authorities will be able to take appropriate measures to fight against armed groups and guarantee the safety of citizens.
This control operation is part of a more comprehensive reform of the Congolese army, aimed at modernizing and professionalizing the armed forces of the DRC. Thanks to these efforts, it is to be hoped that the security situation in the country will improve and that peace can finally be restored throughout the Congolese territory
