The 9th Francophone Games in Kinshasa: President Alassane Ouattara guest of honor
The President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, recently received an official invitation from his Congolese counterpart, Felix Tshisekedi, to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Francophonie Games to be held in July in Kinshasa. This invitation was given to President Ouattara by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Christophe Lutundula, during his visit to Abidjan.
During their meeting, President Ouattara and his Congolese counterpart discussed the excellent relationship between Côte d’Ivoire and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as ways to strengthen these ties. The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and the Diaspora of Côte d’Ivoire, Kandia Camara, also participated in the meeting.
This invitation testifies to the importance attached by the two countries to cooperation and cultural exchanges within La Francophonie. The Francophonie Games are a major event that brings together French-speaking countries around sports competitions, artistic and cultural performances, and diplomatic meetings.
President Ouattara’s participation in this inaugural ceremony will be an opportunity to strengthen ties between Côte d’Ivoire and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and to promote the values of La Francophonie.
