“The construction of a new modern terminal at Kananga airport, a crucial step for air development in the DRC!”

Work for the construction of a new modern terminal at Kananga airport was officially launched on Monday July 10 by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Peter Kazadi. This initiative is part of the central government’s policy to develop and modernize airport infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

By laying the first stone of this ambitious project, Peter Kazadi invited the population of Kasaï-central to take ownership of this achievement initiated by President Félix Tshisekedi. This is a real development lever for the region and for the country as a whole.

The construction of this new terminal will be carried out by the company Moderne Construction, in accordance with international standards in terms of safety and comfort for passengers. Covering an area of 7,600 square meters, these works will be spread over a period of two years, or 683 days, for a total cost of 32,594,423 million US dollars.

This new airport infrastructure will improve the capacity and services offered to travellers. It will also contribute to strengthening the economic attractiveness of the region by promoting trade and investment.

Kananga airport will thus play a crucial role in the development of Kasai-Central and will participate in the consolidation of links with the other provinces of the country and with the rest of the world.

These airport infrastructure modernization works reflect the Congolese government’s desire to create an environment conducive to economic development and the influence of the Democratic Republic of Congo on the international scene.

It is therefore essential to support these initiatives and promote the country’s economic and tourism potential. The construction of the new terminal at Kananga airport is an important step in this process and represents a real step forward for the development of the aviation sector in the DRC
