Rex Kazadi Kanda announces his December 2023 presidential candidacy in the DRC: new hope for political change

Rex Kazadi Kanda, a prominent figure in the Congolese diaspora, made a sensational announcement this Wednesday, July 12: his candidacy for the presidential election of December 2023 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In an open letter addressed to the Congolese people, he expresses his will to change the established order and to bring back the honor, the power and the image of yesteryear to his country of origin.

In his correspondence, Rex Kazadi denounces the budgetary, diplomatic and social crises facing the DRC. He strongly criticizes the current regime for its policy in favor of the privileged few and its inability to solve the country’s problems. For him, the social insecurity affecting the Congolese people is unacceptable and he wants to put an end to it.

Originally from Mbuji-Mayi in the province of Kasai-Oriental, Rex Kazadi began his political involvement in France in 2014. First a member of the APR (Republican Action for Progress), he then created the political party Ba Patriotes ya Kongo (BPK) with the aim of seizing power and truly changing things in the DRC, like the model Thomas Sankara.

In his candidacy, Rex Kazadi also affirms his commitment to Congolese youth, considering that the country’s true wealth lies in its youth, which is the key to its future. He promises to offer it a future rich in possibilities and to invest deeply in its development.

This announcement of Rex Kazadi Kanda’s candidacy brings new political hope for the future of the DRC. His discourse of breaking with the established order and his commitment to Congolese youth arouse interest and shake up certainties. It now remains to follow the evolution of his campaign and to see how Congolese voters will react to this new political offer
