“A major technological breakthrough in education in the DR Congo: the revolutionary digital tool for monitoring teachers’ payroll”

At the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, technological advances are increasingly present. Indeed, after setting up a directory of approved private schools and a school geolocation application, a new digital tool has just been presented to monitor the effectiveness of teachers’ pay on the ground.

This tool was developed by the National Directorate of Control, Preparation of Payroll and Management of Teachers and Administrative Staff in Schools (DINACOPE) in collaboration with the Ministry of EPST. It aims to facilitate the management of teachers’ salaries and the running costs of public schools, by allowing more precise monitoring of teachers’ remuneration.

The presentation of this tool took place during a ceremony chaired by the Prime Minister, Sama Lukonde. He welcomed this innovation which highlights the role of each structure involved in the process of paying teachers. He also encouraged actors in the education sector to support this initiative to improve the Congolese education system.

The Minister of EPST, Tony Mwaba Kazadi, explained how this tool works through the DINACOPE website. He underlined that the implementation of this tool will make it possible to better identify the problems related to the payment of teachers and to provide appropriate solutions. He also recalled the importance of the regularity of payment of teachers’ salaries and the running costs of schools within the framework of the program of free basic education.

This new advance in the digitization of the education sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving resource management and ensuring quality education for all. Thanks to this digital tool, it will be easier to monitor teachers’ pay and ensure that funds allocated to schools are used appropriately.

In conclusion, the digital tool for monitoring the effectiveness of teachers’ pay is a new technological advance in the education sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It will make it possible to guarantee greater transparency in the payment of teachers and to ensure optimal use of the funds allocated to schools. This initiative demonstrates the Congolese government’s commitment to improving the education system and providing quality education to all students
