“The National Assembly financially supports the armed forces of the DRC in their fight against armed groups in Ituri”

The armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) have received financial support from the National Assembly to strengthen their operations against armed groups in Ituri province. The US$100,000 contribution was made by the province’s parliamentary caucus on behalf of the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament.

The objective of this aid is to improve the operational capacity of the FARDC in their fight against the activism of armed groups. Ituri province, like North Kivu, is the scene of numerous military operations aimed at restoring state authority and tracking down foreign and local rebels.

This financial contribution demonstrates the importance of donations and contributions to support military operations in these areas. The FARDC are committed daily in the field to restore peace and security, and this financial support will contribute to strengthening their resources and their effectiveness.

Lieutenant-General Luboya N’kashama, who received this envelope, undertook to use it for the cause of peace in Ituri. This show of solidarity on the part of the National Assembly underlines the importance given to the security and stability of the country.

The fight against armed groups in the DRC is a major challenge, and the joint efforts of the armed forces and local authorities are essential to deal with it. However, it is also important to put in place complementary measures, such as the socio-economic development of the affected regions, to tackle the root causes of instability.

In conclusion, this financial support from the National Assembly to the armed forces of the DRC testifies to the commitment of the government to fight against armed groups and to restore peace in the province of Ituri. However, taking a holistic approach by combining military efforts with sustainable development initiatives is essential to ensure long-term stability in the region
