“The construction works of the urban road network in Mbuji-Mayi launched to promote development and connectivity in the province of Kasaï-Orientale”

The construction works of the urban road system in five communes of the city of Mbuji-Mayi, in the province of Kasaï-Orientale in the Democratic Republic of Congo, were successfully launched during a ceremony chaired by the Governor of the city, Patrick Mathias Kabeya, July 9, 2023. Accompanied by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Tobie Kayumbi Tumba, the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works Alexis Gisaro, as well as the Director of the OVD Victor Tumba, the Governor symbolically gave the submission of work.

This news was warmly welcomed by the population of the province of Kasaï-Orientale, and more particularly by the inhabitants of the city of Mbuji-Mayi. Indeed, these works will make it possible to build a road with a total length of 14.35 km, linking the municipalities of Muya, Dibindi, Pibemba and Kanshi. The objective is to improve traffic and promote connectivity between these different municipalities.

The population expresses its satisfaction and optimism regarding the completion of the work within the time limits. It also wants this new road to be built to the standards required to ensure a modern and sustainable road infrastructure.
