Kinshasa students unhappy with public transport service
Kinshasa students using public transport are increasingly unhappy with the service provided by Trans Academia, the public transport company responsible for transporting students from public universities and higher institutes. They deplore the lack of punctuality of the buses as well as the complexity of the checks carried out by the agents. These problems lead to frequent delays in class and disrupt students’ routines.
An IFASIC finalist student, who requested anonymity, said: “It is almost every day that I arrive late at the Institute, due to the lack of punctuality of the buses. I often arrive in time, at district 1, to wait for the bus which arrives an hour later.”
Another student, living in the municipality of Matete, expressed his dissatisfaction saying: “Personally, I am starting to regret a lot. If Trans Academia does not offer improvements in its services, I will be forced to unsubscribe.”
The students ask Trans Academia to increase the number of buses available and to improve their services to avoid these inconveniences. They emphasize the increase in the number of subscribers on all lines and believe that it is important to offer adequate travel conditions.
Trans Academia, a public company that was launched a few months ago, must take these complaints into account and work to improve its services. Students, who represent an important part of its users, have legitimate expectations in terms of punctuality and quality of the service provided.
It is essential that Trans Academia take steps to address these issues and ensure an efficient and reliable public transport service for students in Kinshasa. Only an improvement in the situation will make it possible to meet the needs of users and preserve the confidence of students in the service offered
