The test events of the Jeux de la Francophonie in Kinshasa took place successfully, giving a promising taste of this long-awaited event. Organized by the National Committee of the Francophonie Games (CNJF) at the twin gymnasiums of the Martyrs stadium, these events brought together Congolese athletes as well as those from Angola and Congo Brazza.
The International Judo Federation delegate to the Francophonie Games, Michel Huet, was enthusiastic about the holding of these test events. He praised the hard work of the organizing team and expressed his confidence in the success of the upcoming event. According to him, the DRC has an extraordinary team and a clear desire to make the Games of La Francophonie a success.
These events not only allowed the facilities and services at the different venues to be tested, but also allowed the judo federations of the DRC and Congo-Brazzaville to assess the level of their athletes. In addition, operations staff were able to gain valuable experience.
Despite some withdrawals due to security and logistical reasons, the government of the Republic remains optimistic about the organization and success of the Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa. He affirms that all the conditions are met to welcome the various participating countries in the best possible conditions.
It is important to emphasize that the participation of the various delegations in the test events and their positive assessment constitutes encouraging proof for the countries which are still reluctant to participate in the Games of La Francophonie.
