“Strong diplomacy between the DRC and Rwanda despite the tensions: statements by President Tshisekedi”

Diplomatic relations between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda remain strong despite the persistent problems between the two countries, President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo said during a program broadcast on the Congolese National Radio Television (RTNC). The Head of State stressed that the disputes concern the regime of Paul Kagame and not the Rwandan people, adding that many marriages have been celebrated between the two peoples.

President Tshisekedi also addressed the environmental issue by announcing that the DRC will next month host the presidents of Brazil and Indonesia, two countries with global forest lungs, to discuss challenges related to the preservation of forests.

In response to criticism accusing him of dictatorship, particularly at election time, the president firmly asserted that he hated dictatorship and could never become a dictator. He pointed out that the end of the FCC-CACH coalition was his greatest regret since coming to power, while free education was his greatest satisfaction.

The president also insisted on the importance of education for the development of the country, stating that only the Congolese themselves can build and develop the country. He therefore implemented free education, ensuring that all children could benefit from a quality education. According to him, education is the key to a prosperous Congo.

In conclusion, President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo stressed the importance of maintaining diplomatic relations with Rwanda despite the persistent problems. He reaffirmed his commitment to the preservation of the environment and highlighted free education as an essential step towards the development of the country
