State agents and civil servants in Haut-Katanga: the unpaid wages threaten the balance sheet of Félix Tshisekedi

Article: Agents and civil servants of the State in Haut-Katanga: a difficult period of unpaid debts which threatens the balance sheet of Félix Tshisekedi

In the province of Haut-Katanga, State agents and civil servants are going through a difficult period marked by outstanding payments that have persisted for several months. This situation is of great concern to National Deputy Nanou MEMBA, member of the Sacred Union and fervent supporter of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi.

In a courageous initiative, Nanou MEMBA decided to step up to the plate and shoot the Governor of the province, Jacques Kyabula Katwe. It raises a fundamental question: how will the governor be able to defend the record of Felix Tshisekedi in the next general elections if the population is suffering due to the mismanagement of the leaders?

The MP for Kipushi has made improving the conditions of state agents and civil servants his priority. He urges the governor to regularize the salary situation of the latter in order to put an end to their suffering.

In a letter addressed to the governor, Nanou MEMBA declares: “Having been contacted once again by many victimized and bruised compatriots, and noting the social unrest that persists in silence, I beg and recommend you, dear governor, to regularize the payment situation of the civil servants of Haut-Katanga, whose cries of distress must not be ignored”.

According to him, this situation has a negative impact on the re-election of Head of State Félix Antoine Tshisekedi and weighs on the regime in place by depriving it of a positive discourse in public opinion.

At the same time, Nanou MEMBA also requests the intervention of the office of the Provincial Assembly of Haut-Katanga. He asks the President to take charge of this urgent file and to find appropriate solutions to meet the pressing needs of agents and civil servants of the State.

It is essential to emphasize that this worrying situation highlights the economic and social difficulties that many civil servants in the Democratic Republic of Congo have to face. Unpaid wages are not only a source of distress for the individuals concerned, but it also harms the development of the country and the confidence of citizens in their leaders.

It is therefore imperative that concrete measures be taken to remedy this situation and ensure the well-being of State agents and civil servants. This will not only help to improve their daily lives, but also to build confidence and stability within the country.
