“Violent offensive against the ADF in the DRC: 3 combatants neutralized and weapons recovered”

The latest news from the Democratic Republic of Congo reports the joint action of the Congolese and Ugandan armies in the Mwalika Valley, where they succeeded in neutralizing three rebel fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). This operation took place on the night of Saturday to Sunday July 9, and also made it possible to recover two firearms.

According to the spokesman of the coalition, Colonel Mak Hazukay, these attackers were trapped in a carefully prepared ambush by the two armies. In addition to recovered weapons, agricultural products stolen from citizens were also found.

Patrols continue in the area, and the population is advised to avoid the Mwalika Valley due to the intensification of military operations.

This joint offensive by the Congolese and Ugandan armies in Mwalika follows the attack on a private school in Uganda last month. Since then, the armed forces of both countries have intensified their efforts to neutralize the ADF rebellion.

Recall that a week ago, two assailants, including a minor girl, were also captured during a clash in the Mwalika Valley. A firearm and a copy of the Koran were seized during this operation.

This series of military actions aims to restore security in the region and put an end to the activities of the armed groups that are rampant in eastern DRC. The Congolese and Ugandan authorities are determined to cooperate closely to guarantee the stability of the region and to protect the civilian population.

This is an important step in the fight against the ADF and other armed groups which have caused innumerable suffering to the local population. The progress made in the Mwalika Valley bears witness to the determination of the security forces to continue their fight against insecurity and to restore peace in the region.

As military operations continue, it is essential to put in place support and reconstruction measures for communities affected by the violence. It is also crucial to strengthen regional cooperation efforts to combat cross-border armed groups and prevent future attacks.

The people of the DRC now hope that these joint operations by the Congolese and Ugandan armies will mark the beginning of an era of peace and stability in the eastern region of the country. The fight against armed groups remains a major challenge, but with determination and international cooperation, it is possible to overcome these obstacles and create a better future for all.
