Faith Word In Action (FWA), a citizen structure funded by partners such as Oxfam, FEMNET and the European Union, recently organized a workshop in Kinshasa. The purpose of this event was to conduct FWA’s annual review and assess progress in achieving scheduled activities.
During this two-day workshop, the participants reviewed the achievements and the constraints encountered during the year 2022. They examined the results obtained and identified the major developments as well as the new challenges to be met. The objective was to rethink and revitalize the work plan for the year 2023.
Anifa Kalombola, Executive Secretary of Faith Word In Action, underlined the importance of this annual review, which makes it possible to draw up a complete assessment of the activities carried out and to assess their relevance. She also highlighted the diversity of projects and partners involved, highlighting the STITCH project which benefits from the support of Oxfam and FEMNET.
The workshop therefore allowed each partner to share their experience, both within the STITCH project and in other independent initiatives. This pooling of knowledge and particularities has fostered a more in-depth understanding of needs and has strengthened collaboration for positive development.
It should be recalled that Faith Word In action has been operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo for nearly four years. She plays an active role in the development and empowerment of young women and girls, encouraging them to take on leadership roles within their communities. In collaboration with CONAFED, FWA participates in the STITCH project in seven African countries, with the aim of creating a lasting impact.
This annual review workshop demonstrates the commitment of Faith Word In action to pursue its actions and improve its effectiveness. By evaluating past results and planning for the future, FWA ensures that it can continue to support women and girls towards greater autonomy and strengthened leadership
