The declared presidential candidate of 2023, Delly Sesanga, recently expressed his disagreement with the declaration of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi. During the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the silver jubilee of the bishop of the diocese of Mbuji-Mayi, Bernard Kasanda, the Head of State affirmed that he would attack without hesitation any Congolese endangering security and the stability of the country.
For Delly Sesanga, contempt for the constitution and the laws represents the greatest threat to the security and stability of the country. According to him, in a rule of law, it is the laws that define the conditions and circumstances in which it is possible to evoke an attack on the stability and security of the country, in particular the security of the State. Any other reference in this regard would be arbitrary and constitute an abuse of power.
He warns against any dictatorial drift, recalling the story of President Mobutu who, through his speeches aimed at muzzling opposition, established terror to prevent any criticism. For Delly Sesanga, President Tshisekedi’s remarks are extremely serious, because they express confusion about the nature of the political order that governs the Congolese people.
He stresses that the violation of the constitution and of democratic principles represents a major attack on the stability of the country and the security of its people. As a democrat and defender of the rule of law, Delly Sesanga strongly condemns these remarks by the Head of State which undermine the foundations of national cohesion and internal harmony.
He calls on the Congolese people not to give in to fear and to defend the constitution and the laws of the Republic, as taught by Patrice Emery Lumumba and the 13 parliamentarians. Delly Sesanga invites democrats to firmly oppose new forms of dictatorship and encourages Congolese to seek the rebuilding of the state, based on respect for the constitution, laws and human rights.
In conclusion, Delly Sesanga stresses the importance of a rule of law where only the constitution and laws dictate the conduct of leaders, with respect for human rights. He calls for the vigilance and unity of the Congolese people to block the way to any new dictatorial drift
