The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, went on tour in the Kasaï region, more precisely in Kananga and Mbuji-Mayi. During his stay in Kananga, he inaugurated the erosion control project financed by the World Bank to the tune of 100 million USD, which aims to eradicate 12 erosions in the region.
The Head of State also visited infrastructures under construction, such as the morgue of the general hospital, the University of Kananga (UNIKAN) and the former Royal Athens.
After his visit to Kananga, Félix Tshisekedi went to Mbuji-Mayi to participate in the silver jubilee of Mgr Bernard-Emmanuel Kasanda, bishop of the diocese of this city. During his visit, the President also laid the foundation stone for the new town of Bena Ntumba, located 5km from Mbuji-Mayi. He also visited other infrastructures that are being rehabilitated and built in the city.
The president thus puts forward his vision for the modernization and development of infrastructure in the country. This tour is part of its policy of development and improvement of the living conditions of the population.
