The Congolese political opposition met last Sunday at a meeting in Kinshasa, despite attempts to prevent it from the power in place. Only Martin Fayulu was able to take part in the event.
The political leaders present denounced the failure of the current regime, promising to denounce the electoral fraud that could follow in the next elections. In addition, growing insecurity has become one of the major concerns of opposition political leaders in the DRC.
While some called for an end to the insecurity in the country, other officials lamented the high cost of living, economic instability and youth unemployment situation. Nicolas Lenga, SG of Envol, also appealed to the population to fight against insecurity.
Ultimately, opposition leaders in the DRC have called for an end to electoral fraud and for a profound overhaul of the country. This meeting also offers an opportunity to raise public awareness of upcoming electoral issues.
