Launch of a new political grouping in the DRC before the 2023 elections
The DRC is preparing for presidential elections scheduled for December 2023. The national president of the Alliance pour l’Avènement d’un Congo Prospère et Grand (AACPG), Pius Muabilu, has launched his political grouping which has the main objective of supporting the candidacy of Felix Tshisekedi. The Minister of Town Planning and Housing believes that the elected candidate is in favor of the fight against insecurity in the east of the country.
“Supporting the Congo means supporting Fatshi, so that we can get the country out of this humiliation suffered since 1994. We support the head of state because the budget has increased, for free education. This constitution provides for free education, but he dared,” said Pius Muabilu.
Several political parties and personalities, including the deputy minister of defense, Samy Adubango, and Paul Muhindo, deputy rapporteur of the CENI, make up the new political grouping.
The fight against insecurity in the east of the country is still topical and requires significant support. Muabilu’s declaration and the creation of a new political grouping to support Tshisekedi show the need to strengthen the power in place to meet the challenges ahead.
However, the political context in the DRC is often marked by allegiances and alliances that are not always clear. It is therefore important to follow closely the evolution of the political situation in the run-up to the elections.
